It's the strangest feeling to feel--actually touch with your hands--how hollow your middle section is immediately after giving birth. It's still hard for me to imagine that my uterus actually got so big that it rearranged my insides like that.

You're getting close! This is the worst part. I'm sure everyone tells you that. I think it's natures way of preparing you to do anything to get the baby out.

ash, it is called The Body Atlas and it was mine. brooke gave it to me for christmas one year. kel has a copy too.

anyway, i wanted to feel cool... do you all think i'm cool now?

yes, it's the Body Atlas and i think it's out of print. i happened to find a used copy some where, fortunately, because it is a fab book!

Having a baby living inside you seems like the most unnatural thing in the world - but ironically it is actually one of the most natural things in the world.

I once shared this thought with my boss at work. I thought it was poinient - but he didn't seem impressed.

Later I realised that I shouldn't expect a gay guy to appriciate such a point. Especially the part about having a baby being the "most natural..."
